About Serenade Range
More Than a Place to See a Show
Serenade Range is an intimate outdoor music venue at GOS Ranch in Whitehouse, Texas, built around a simple idea: live music should feel like an experience, not just an event on a calendar.
We wanted to create a place where people could slow down, settle into the evening, enjoy great music under the Texas sky, and feel a little closer to the artists on stage and the people around them.
But the story of Serenade Range began long before there was a stage.
Where it began
A Dream More Than a Decade in the Making
Serenade Range began with a conversation.
In 2012, just weeks into our relationship, we found ourselves talking late into the night about something we’d both dreamed of creating someday. As one idea followed another, the conversation kept coming back to the same response:
“Yes! Exactly. That’s what I was thinking!”
So we wrote it down.
We still have that piece of paper today.
For more than a decade, the idea remained a dream—but not one we forgot about.
Eventually, with George alongside us, we decided it was time to start looking for the place where that dream could actually become real.
And finding it was anything but quick.
Finding a home for the dream
Searching for the Right Place
For roughly two and a half years, the three of us scoured East Texas.
We looked at dozens of properties. Some were beautiful but impractical. Some had potential but didn’t quite fit. Others simply didn’t feel right.
We weren’t just looking for acreage.
We were looking for a place where we could build the life we wanted and create the experience we’d been imagining for years.
Eventually, we found GOS Ranch.
Before there was a stage or an audience area, Dālene and George stood looking across a part of the property that had largely been left natural. Where most people might have seen an untouched hillside and clearing, Dālene could already see something else:
A stage below.
An audience gathered on the hill.
Music filling the space between them.
That hillside became Serenade Range.
The part you might not realize
This Is Our Home
There’s another part of the story that’s easy to miss if you’ve only visited us for a concert:
Serenade Range is our home.
Not figuratively. Literally.
Our front door is about 100 feet from the Range House. When you come to a show, you’re not arriving at a commercial property we drive to for work. You’re coming onto the land where our family lives.
In a very real sense, we’re inviting people into our front yard.
That’s part of why Serenade Range feels different—and why we care so much about what happens here.
The gardens, grounds, buildings, stage and gathering spaces aren’t separate from our everyday lives. They’re part of them.
Much of what you see here was created with our own hands and with the help of our family. We’ve built, painted, framed, wired, plumbed, landscaped, cleaned, changed things that didn’t work, improved the things that did, and learned a great deal along the way.
And we’re still building.
What we want it to feel like
A Different Kind of Concert Experience
We’re not trying to recreate a giant amphitheater on a smaller scale.
Serenade Range is intentionally more personal than that.
Our audience gathers on a grassy hillside overlooking the stage. Families come together. Friends spread out, relax and make an evening of it. The artists aren’t hundreds of feet away on a video screen. They’re right there.
Some nights bring familiar songs from incredible tribute acts. Others introduce our audience to artists they may not have discovered otherwise.
What matters most to us is creating nights people genuinely enjoy—and want to come back for.
We want Serenade Range to feel less like attending a production and more like discovering a place you’re glad exists.
The story is still being written
Still Growing
What you see today is only part of the dream we originally put on paper.
We believe Serenade Range can become more than a place to see a show—a place for celebrations, experiences, gatherings and memories that go well beyond the concert stage.
But we’re building that future deliberately.
We’d rather grow Serenade Range one good idea at a time than rush to become something we aren’t ready to be.
That means the Range will continue to change. There will be new ideas, new spaces, new experiences and probably a few things we’ll try, rethink and improve along the way.
That’s part of the story.
Not because Serenade Range is unfinished, but because the dream was always bigger than simply building a place to hold concerts.
